The 2008 Wise County Youth Fair Horse Show will be held at :
            NRS Training Arena

RULES AND INFORMATION
1.  The General Rules of the Wise County Youth Fair, the 4-H State Horse
Show Rules, and the following rules will govern the Horse Show.

2.  Entry fees are:  $20.00 per horse, plus $5.00 per class.  Entry fee and
entry forms must be turned in on or before February 16, 2008.  Late
registration deadline is February 22, 2008.
NOTE: The books are
CLOSED on February 22, 2008, double check your entry card.

3.  Judging will be based on the horse only in halter classes.

4.  Any horse shown must be owned by the exhibitor or the exhibitor’s
immediate family.  You cannot show a friend’s horse.

5.  Exhibitors may enter all classes but will be allowed to enter only one
horse per class.  A horse cannot be ridden by two or more riders in any
class.

6.  Exhibitors must check in with the Horse Show Secretary before
7:30a.m.   The secretary will assign each exhibitor an entry number card.  This card must be
displayed on the exhibitor’s back during all classes.  Show time is at 8:00 a.m.

7.  All exhibitors must observe the 4-H Dress Code (hat, boots, long sleeve shirts).

8.  No stallions will be allowed to show.

9.  All exhibitors must use their age as of August 31, 2007.
Age groups are:        Juniors—13 & under
                              Seniors 14—19 years

10.  In case of a tie, the tie will be broken using state 4-H rules.

11.  High point and reserve high point for each age division awards will be given for
Performance Horse. may NOT also compete for High Point Speed, (Department V—Hose Show—
Speed). Only one horse/one rider combination can be eligible for High Point
MUST
DESIGNATE ON ENTRY CARD BEFORE THE SHOW STARTS.

12.  To be eligible for high point Performance, horse must be shown at halter.

13.  All exhibitors must present a current negative coggins test (within 12 months) to the
designated WCYF representative prior to unloading horses on show day between the hours of
7—8:00 a.m.  Validation will also be checked at registration table to receive entry number.  
THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!

14.  Only one horse can be used for high-point horse and must be designated on entry blank
before show starts.

15.  Any exhibitor or parent/coach mistreating or correcting an animal which is deemed
excessive by the show management will be asked to leave the show grounds immediately and
forfeit any and all show fees and premiums.

16.  Because of 4-H rules, Clover Kids and PeeWee kids (under 9 years of age) will no longer be
able to show in the Wise County Youth Fair.
